THE PRELUDE

In the winter of 2021, amidst the global pandemic, Richard Sears, an American Jazz Pianist, embarked on a journey to a remote part of Latvia to meet David Klavins, the inventor of the Una Chorda - considered to be the world's largest pianos. There, using one of these towering, nearly 5m (15ft) tall instruments, Richard recorded a modern Jazz album.

Description

Richard's journey and recording session is now part of a new documentary by filmmakers Kamil Dymek, Pawel Ptak and Mikolaj Bakalarz. This documentary is the result of the collaboration between Richard and Step3 . It features the craftsmanship work of David Klavins with the soundtrack made up of Richard's compositions recorded in Latvia and produced in Paris. The album featuring the soundtrack is now available on Spotify.
